Temporary Library Hours

About Us

Since first opening our doors in 1876, the Joliet Public Library has offered many resources to the citizens of Joliet.

We invite you to visit both of our physical locations where we bring together the resources, services, and expertise to inspire Joliet residents of all ages to READ ~ EXPLORE  ~ ASK ~ DISCOVER     with library kits.

  • READ, listen, and view thousands of items including books, music, and movies in a variety of formats convenient to you.
  • EXPLORE state-of-the-art technologies, the hottest bestsellers, new film releases, and more than 2,000 programs offered each year.
  • ASK questions and seek the assistance of our knowledgeable staff in locating reputable information in the catalog, from a database, or on the Internet.
  • DISCOVER new ideas, research history, become acquainted with other cultures, and locate the factual information needed to make informed decisions.

The Joliet Public Library connects you to your world, your community, and yourself.
